Songpyeon and hanbok

songpyeon
This week in their Korean classes, students will learn more about Chuseok and about some of the activities associated with this festival. The Korean teachers will teach the students how to make songpyeon (송편), a kind of small rice cake. Students will be encouraged to take a few pieces home to share with their families.

Hanbok (한복) is the traditional Korean dress, worn on many occasions throughout the year. To commemorate this national holiday in an RIS way, we encourage all students to wear either a Korean hanbok or the national dress of their own countries to school this Friday.
