About uniforms

We thank all parents for their support of the RIS uniform policy, and see most students wearing the correct uniforms on the correct day.

This is a reminder to all families that school uniforms are to be worn smartly and properly. This means that the shirt must be buttoned appropriately and tucked in, with the necktie worn in the correct manner.

RIS respects that children's clothes may become dirty over the course of a week. However, as much as possible, parents need to ensure that the students are wearing clean school clothes daily.

The uniform may not be altered in any way. If students are feeling cold, they may wear their RIS sweater or jacket. Students may not wear a different shirt or sweatshirt over their regular school uniform.

There has been some confusion about when it is acceptable for students to wear the PE uniform. To be clear, as per our Six-day schedule, the students have PE, and may wear their PE uniforms, on the following days:
Grade One: Day One and Day Three
Grade Two: Day Two and Day Four
Grade Three: Day Two and Day Three
Grade Four: Day Two and Day Four
Grade Five: Day Three and Day Four
Grade Six: Day One
Grade Seven: Day Five
Grade Eight: Day Six
On all other days, students must wear their regular RIS school uniform.
